Drip Irrigation

Drip irrigation is a type of micro-irrigation that saves water and nutrients by allowing water to drip slowly to the roots of plants, either from above the soil surface or buried below the surface. The goal is to place water directly into the root zone and minimize evaporation. Its application is done by running a water line to each plant or tree and attaching a small head that drips directly into the base/root of the plant. Because the entire planter bed is not being sprayed with water as with traditional sprinkler systems, weeding is less because only the base/root of the plants are getting water.
